Cataract Surgery

Cataract is a condition which is caused by the clouding of the eye’s natural lens. This lens is positioned behind the iris and the pupil. The lens carries out the function of focusing light onto our retina. It is due to the functioning of this lens due to which we are able to focus and see objects that are both near and far. With equipment and technology being very advanced today, all it takes to remove the cataract is 10 minutes. The clouded lens in the eye is removed and a permanent intraocular lens implant is introduced. It is a surgery carried out on outpatient basis and you do not need to even get admitted in the hospital. However, the cataract surgeon you choose would make a great difference.
